Context for Learning
Our current ‘Context for Learning’ is the Invaders and Settlers. We will be studying Britain’s settlement by Anglo-Saxons and Scots 600AD through the question 'Who were the invaders after Roman times and why was there a struggle between them?' For Geography, we will be studying the regions that the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings settled, why they chose them and how the regions were divided. Our English study is based on the 'Arthur and the Golden rope' text. This is a fabulous myth based on a young boy in Anglo-saxon times. The text brings to life some of the mythical creatures and gods from those times.
Please see the class letter and knowledge organiser for further information on our curriculum coverage. |

Supporting at Home
Parents are the biggest influence on a child, so it is hugely important that we work together to support each other.
Supporting your child with their reading and homework has a huge impact and is hugely appreciated.
We encourage parents to take the time to talk to their child about what they have done in school and show an interest. Also to become involved in school life by checking the school website, following Twitter and reading the school newsletters.
Parents can also make a huge contribution to the school by supporting the PTA and attending events such as the Christmas fair.
Remember we are there to support each other so we encourage you to contact the school and speak to the class teacher if you are worried about anything.
Useful Documents
The documents below will be updated to provide you with current information about the learning taking place in class. There may also be additional resources to support you and your child.
You will also be able to access the Meet the Teacher PowerPoint from September.
Don't forget the maths strategy videos I have place on the top of this page.
